Maddy Goldberg

My desire to work in a professional kitchen stemmed from my love of food and desire to eat good food often. As a kid I would ask my mom what we are having for breakfast at the dinner table. Over time my love of food grew into the realization that good food is simply just ingredients prepared in a certain way using different techniques. Early on I began researching how everything is made; from bread to ranch sauce to fresh cheese.

After high school I studied social work at the University of Guelph. I quickly realized my love of food was much more than a hobby, and I decided to pursue cooking as a career. After graduating University I went to culinary school at George Brown College. When I graduated from culinary school I worked at Aloette Restaurant in Toronto to refine my cooking skills in a fast-paced professional environment. Since Aloette, I started Cook Eat Corp. which merges my love for food and cooking with social work.

What is Cook Eat?

Cook Eat (originally “cook, eat, sleep, repeat”) started as an Instagram account and outlet to share my home cooking while studying at university. As my home cooking developed into a professional career Cook Eat has become:

1) a source for sharing recipes and tips – food advice and recipes from a professional to a home cook #cookeatrecipes

2) a platform to merge my Social Work background with my passion for cooking - to create memorable dining experiences #cookeatdining
